What do the numbers shown in the statistics table actually mean?

The memomo works similar to learning with flash cards and the Leitner system. Words are assigned to a level depending how often they have been translated correctly. They start at level 1 and move up to level 6, after which they will no longer be asked. The statistics show how many words are currently at the different levels. The system is explained in further detail on the Help statistics page.

Is it possible for users to extend the trainer with new words?

This is currently (2011-03) not possible, but planed for the near future.

What is the meaning of the points score displayed with every question?

The points present a quick assessment over the progress. The number is the sum of the number of words at each level multiplied by the level. So adding words to the trainer and words moving to higher levels increase the points score.

Why does the trainer reject correct translations?

Usually the problem is that there are several possible translations for a word and the trainer is looking for a different one. The trainer will accept only one specific translation. If the alternative translation is stored in the database, the answer will not be counted as either correct of false, the word will simple be asked again.
Accepting multiple answers will be possible in a future version of the trainer. Until then there are two possible ways to handle bad translations: you can report a faulty translation for a word directly from the trainer, asking us to change it. And you can block every word from being asked, either permanently or just for the moment, to be added to your box again later.

I registered a new user, but cannot log in.

There may be a number of reasons for this. The most common seems to be that the warning message when choosing an already taken user name or entering non matching password is overlooked. In a case of doubt please try registering again with a different user name.

What does "Currently no more terms are available" mean?

The basic principle of the memomo trainer is spaced repetition. Each word has to be translated several times. To ensure the word has reached the long term memory, the time span between the translation requests for one word becomes larger with higher levels, up to several weeks. The message appears if there are no more words that are currently waiting to be translated, which does not necessarily mean that there wont be any more questions. In most cases the time span for the words in the box has become rather long due to their higher level and no words are currently due, so when returning at a later time the message will probably no longer appear.
